Board chairperson
Founding Chairperson, CHAIN Uganda; global advocate for patient safety and patient-centered healthcare.
Executive Director – Ex Officio
Dr. Naguudi leads UAPO’s Secretariat and is responsible for program implementation, partnership development, and day-to-day management.
Advisor
Ruth is also a Founding Director of Sickle Cell Association of Uganda. She has, over the years, participated with the core national planning teams .

Sarah Nekesa is a public health practitioner and community advocate passionate about patient rights and health education.

Flavia Kyomukama is a renowned HIV advocate and gender equality champion with over two decades of experience in community mobilization and policy influence.

Dr. Holder-March is a global health professional with expertise in healthcare leadership, patient safety, and quality improvement.
Advisor
Gertrude defeated breast cancer 21 years ago, a co-founder and a Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Women’s Cancer Support Organisation (UWOCASO).

Dr. Muwanga is a healthcare policy expert and advocate for sustainable patient-centered systems. His extensive experience in medical education and hospital administration strengthens UAPO.

Dr. Annet Naguudi
Executive Director
Dr. Naguudi provides overall strategic and operational leadership for UAPO.
She oversees program development, partnership engagement, and organizational growth, ensuring alignment with UAPO’s mission to promote patient safety and strengthen healthcare systems through advocacy, research, and innovation.
Director Of Programs
John leads the design and coordination of UAPO’s national programs and initiatives.
He manages multi-sector collaborations, supervises project implementation, and ensures that all program activities deliver meaningful outcomes for patients and communities.
Manager Advocacy & Research
Jennifer drives UAPO’s advocacy and evidence-based research agenda.
She leads campaigns on patient rights, medication safety, and community engagement, ensuring that data and patient experiences inform healthcare policies and reforms.
Director for Development & Fundraising
Joshua is responsible for strategic partnerships, donor relations, and resource mobilization.
He leads efforts to secure sustainable funding for UAPO’s initiatives and strengthens collaborations with national and international health networks.
Patient Safety and Rehabilitation Specialist
Rebecca provides technical guidance on patient safety, rehabilitation, and community reintegration.
She supports the development of training tools and frameworks that promote recovery, dignity, and quality of life for patients across diverse health conditions.
